Opaline is Jonathan Hughes (bass, guitars, programming), Alex Lynne (vocals) and David Mussen (acoustic guitar).

Cousins Jonathan Hughes and David Mussen have been writing and performing together (as well as playing with numerous other groups) for most of their adult lives. When Jonathan and David started working on the music that would become "Ghosts of Dust and Tar," the only thing they were missing was the perfect voice to sing the songs. Normally, this would be a tall order to fill, but Jonathan not only knew what the perfect voice would be, he also knew the person behind it — Alex Lynne. They gave Alex the demos, she liked what she heard, and then they started to get serious about the project and eventually recorded the ten songs you hear on "Ghosts of Dust and Tar", with the help of many of their friends, including Jim Whitford (pedal steel, lap steel, and dobro) and Joelle Labert (background vocals).
